This programme is designed for one on one sessions with the individual
client.
Communication skills in today’s world are of the utmost importance
and a set of skills with which most of us need much help. These people
skills are an essential part of today’s new business arena. There
are many levels that soft skills need to be addressed in order be an
effective and productive communicator.
- Creating and improving one’s self-confidence and self-image.
Addressing the manner in which the individual both listens and reacts
to information from others. Emotional responses and insecure ego driven
reactions are often the cause of miscommunication and explosive, destructive
outcomes.
- The skill to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally
and non-verbally, attention to body language, mind set and perception
is vital to great communication. Projecting and presenting the positive
image you wish people to receive is a balance between mind, body and
spirit.
- Speaking clearly, concisely and relaying information with impact.
This focuses on building the individual’s vocal toolbox. Tone,
positive choice of language and creating a vibrant energy to communicate
information. If a more intensive training of the client’s sound
is required, the three-month speech programme is recommended.
- Developing a healthy sense of awareness of both oneself and others.
Creating communication that embodies respect, ethics and outcomes
driven solutions. Cross cultural awareness and appreciation is also
addressed.
- The ability to communicate with confidence and clarity goes a long
way to expanding and productively developing both the individual and
their working environment. This adds enormous value to both the individual
and their company. Facilitating the creativity and initiation of ideas
in the work place.
The initial interview:
This is to establish the individual’s areas of weakness and concern
in the work place. A brief meeting with the direct management before
interviewing the candidate is required in order to set mutually satisfactory
goals for both parties. In cases where the training is for top-level
management, self ascertained weaknesses and goals are established.
10 Session Module:
In the initial 10 sessions we address the confidence levels and assessed
goals of the individual. Each programme is uniquely designed with exercises,
writing techniques and reading material that will address the individual’s
areas of weakness. Other coaching methods employed are the use of video
recording and a vocal CD, when necessary.
Although each individual has a unique profile, here are some of the
areas most commonly addressed:
- Lack of communication confidence when dealing with authority figures
or pressurised situations. (This can be anything from anxiety when
answering the phone to feeling tongue tied and frozen when in high-level
meetings or giving public presentations).
- Poor conflict resolution skills and overly aggressive communication.
- Poor vocal delivery e.g. vocal projection, pronunciation, pace
and energy when delivering information, instructions or presentations.
- Poor ability to construct information for a dynamic and concise
delivery.
- Poor listening skills.
- Poor body language and physical presentation (including eye contact).
- Uninspiring and limited use of the English language.
- Poorly developed ability to think and create solutions “outside
the box”.
Sessions will be one hour in length. At the end of the 10 sessions there
is a review of both the progress made and areas that still need to be
further addressed. It is important to note that sustained results are
achieved only through thorough training and, while some of the goals may
be met, further work may be required for others. As well as the individual’s
established goals, throughout these sessions the basis of good communication
in the workplace is clarified and defined. Broadening of both personal
vision and a vision of how the individual may contribute productively
to the company are also experienced.
* Please note that sessions that are not cancelled within 24 hours
will be counted.
